Barhi dates are the sweetest of all dates and resemble a butterscotch candy in taste. These are ingenious to the Arab peninsula. It is usually eaten when it is ripe i.e. reaches the golden yellow state known as "Ratab". They can be refrigerated for months as they are also eaten in a crunchy brown state. We have grown more than 80 tones of barhi dates this season in our farm.
Growing conditions
The typical harvest of these dates is in the month of july or mid august. Barhi dates bloom well in low humidity and warm temperatures. It demands plenty of sunshine and requires a low maintenance.
